A native to New York, I uprooted from Long Island to California in 2012 after five years of teaching Spanish to Middle School and High School students. My passion for teaching soon craved a broader audience as I discovered a love for health and nutrition, but my heart still feels most at home in the classroom.

I love working with students and watching them change for the better. When I come to your school, I teach health topics that are important to students and relevant to their ages, including:

  • Body Image Awareness
  • Social Media: Life Enhancing vs Life Detracting
  • Food & Mood: How Certain Foods Make Us Feel
  • Self Love & Acceptance
  • Food as Fuel
  • Finding Healthy Movement That You Enjoy
  • How to Build Your Healthy Plate
  • The Power of Sleep
  • Being Your Best Self

“When I first heard Jackie was coming to my school, I didn't know what to expect! She was so fun and young...not what I thought we would get when I heard this was a class about health. I learned so much about everything from how to manage friendships to how to build my plate. We even did visualizations and wrote down our favorite things about our bodies. It taught me to look at myself in a more positive way. I can't believe how much she covered and how much I still remember!”

-Scout, Age 13

“Jackie Mulligan met with my middle school students and taught lessons on nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and self love. A month later, students and their families were still talking about how to build a healthy power plate and recipes they tried at home as a result of her class! In addition, Jackie's presentation with our middle school girls on self love serves as a starting point for talking with our students about healthy relationships with one's self and others. The young girls who attended the presentation walked out empowered by their strengths — something we continue to reference and build upon. We are grateful Jackie was able to work with us and hope to collaborate with her for years to come!”
